MAC Giveaway

My long overdue FIRST EVER GIVEAWAY has finally arrived! Yey. I have been so excited to do a giveaway but I have had zero money to be able to buy a half decent prize. Anyway, now I have a bit more cash I thought it was the perfect opportunity for me to say a big thank-you to all my lovely followers with a little treat. It's nothing huge as I'm on a rubbish wage and have lots of bills to pay for but it is a prize I would love to win and I hope you will too. I can't believe 352 people who actually like my blog, I never thought I'd get 1 follower if I'm honest.

So moving onto the exciting bit. As my all time favourite make-up brand is MAC I thought the prize just had to be a couple of MAC goodies. Therefore, the prize is going to be: A MAC lipstick & a MAC Lipglass of your choice.

I know this doesn't sound like much but I would personally love to win some free MAC products and as I said, I don't have loads of money and MAC isn't the cheapest brand. I would LOVE to be able to give more but until I win the lottery or land myself an amazing job, that will have to wait.

As this is my first Giveaway, it is only open to UK followers. I will do an international Giveaway next time.

So, moving on to how you can enter my giveaway. There are two things that you MUST do in order to enter:

You MUST follow my blog via Google Friend Connect.

You MUST leave a comment below with your all time favourite beauty product and why. It will make for a more interesting read than the usual 'Enter Me' comments and I'd love to know your faves. This will get you 1 entry.

Optional entries:

For additional entries and a higher chance of winning, you can:

Follow me on Twitter here and leave the name of your Twitter with your comment (+ 1 entry)
Tweet about my Giveaway and leave a link with your comment (+ 1 entry)
Follow me via Bloglovin' (+ 2 entries)
Do a blog post about my Giveaway and leave the link with your comment (+ 2 entries)

That's a possible 7 entries in total. Please tell me which of the above you have done in your comment along with your email address so I can contact you if you are the winner. I will ask you which colour lipstick/lipglass you would like via email if you win.

The Giveaway will end at midnight on the 28th February. The winner will be chose at random via and contacted on the 29th February.

Once again, a HUGE thanks to everyone who takes the time to read and comment on my blog. It means a lot!!!

Lots of Love,

NOTD - OPI & Deborah Lippmann

I don't really need to say much about this as the pictures say it all but I went to get my nails done on Saturday and I had them painted in OPI's 'Pepe's Purple Passion'. I do like the colour on it's own as I love dark shades of red, purple or blue nail varnish but I decided I wanted something a bit more jazzy shall we say. I love a bit of glitter, which girl doesn't? As it was a similar colour, I decided to put the Deborah Lippman glitter polish I received in Decembers Glossybox over the OPI. I love the effect it gave and I can't stop looking at my glittery mitts every time they catch the light.

Has anyone ever tried either of these nail polishes? I think the OPI looks lovely on it's own and the Deborah Lippmann is great for adding a glam edge. What's your favourite nail polish combo?

Foxy Locks Clip-In Hair Extensions

Hey Guys! So if you read my blog regularly you'll know I was debating over wether to purchase some Foxy Locks hair extensions. The reason I was debating was because they didn't have the 160g set I originally wanted in stock. After much deliberation, I decided I would try the 120g set as it still seemed like a lot of hair. I ordered them on Wednesday morning and they arrived on Thursday. I paid for next day delivery as I needed them for going out this weekend. I was very impressed they arrived so quickly as sometimes 'Next Day' can still take a couple of days. In total I paid £62 as the extensions themselves were £56, plus £5.99 for postage. I think this is a pretty reasonable price for a full head of hair extensions.
They arrived wrapped in pretty pink packaging and I just couldn't wait to rip the package open and see my lovely new hair. I'd heard so many rave reviews so I had high hopes. I have to say, I wasn't disappointed. I opted for colour #60 which is a light Ash Blonde. I decided on the shade that was best suited to me by watching Imogen's you tube video here. The video was so useful and I'm so glad I watched it or I would of gone for the complete wrong shade. If you are considering buying some Foxy Locks extensions, definitely give it a watch.

So moving on to my review of these extensions. As I have only just got them, this is purely based on first impressions. I am going to be very thorough as I would hate for someone to read one of my reviews, buy something I've mentioned and then HATE it. So be warned, it's going to be pretty lengthy. Sorry if I bore you, I'm just hoping to give as much information as I can. I am going to talk about different aspects of the extensions and rate them out of 10.

Quality of the hair: The quality of the hair is probably the most important thing when shopping for extensions. I tried to do as much research as possible before ordering these and to be honest there was a huge mixture of opinions. These particular extensions are said to be '100% Remy human hair' on the Foxy Locks website. As I have had micro-ring extensions in the past which were Remy hair, I know that they are the best type of hair you can get. Basically, Remy means all the hairs cuticles are laying in the same direction so they should remain tangle-free for a lot longer than cheaper kinds of hair. On first impressions, I think the quality of the hair seems great. It is smooth, silky and tangle free. 10/10.

Colour: Now I know the colour was in my own hands, but a lot of the time when ordering extensions online, they can turn out to be a completely different colour to the pictures shown. The colour I ordered, as I said earlier is a 'Light Ash Blone' and it matches my hair PERFECTLY. The colour is exactly as Imogen described it and the picture was very close to the real-deal. Another huge thumbs up. 10/10.

Thickness: I think the biggest talking point of Foxy Locks extensions is the thickness. I have read review after review about how thick and glamorous these extensions are. I ordered the 120g extensions as you know because the 160g were sold out. I found it almost impossible to find a review of the 120g set online as everyone seems to go for the 160g Deluxe set. Let me tell you, there's no need. You get LOADS of hair with the 120g set. My natural hair is normal, not thick but by no means thin. I would recommend saving yourselves some money and going with the 120g set. (Unless you have SUPER thick hair of course.) At first, I thought the ends looked quite thin but when I put them in my hair they looked really thick and the ends of our hair are always thinner anyway so it gave a more natural look. 9/10.

Length: The only bad thing about Foxy Locks is that they don't offer different lengths. The only length they offer is 20 inches. For me, this is perfect as I usually go for 18 or 20 anyway. I love long thick hair with lots of volume. However, for someone who has hair above shoulder length, these would just be far too long and would look ridiculously fake. Okay, you can go and get them cut at the hairdressers, but who wants to start forking out MORE money? I certainly wouldn't after spending £60 on the extensions themselves. 7/10.

Clips: These extensions come with the clips already attached which is a huge bonus for me. I have had horrendous experience in the past with sewing clips onto wefts of hair. I am not a good sewer, put it that way. These extensions comes with ten wefts of hair as shown on the picture above. All of the clips are securely attached and they all have a silicone lining around them which means they won't cause damage to your natural hair and they stay securely in place. I did find them quite hard to snap open and closed though. 8/10.

Styling: Whenever I go out, I like to have my hair curled as I think extensions look more natural when they have a natural wave or curl to them. Having said this, a very important factor for me was wether they would style well. I used my GHD's to style them last night and they curled like a dream. They also held very well, even without a load of hairspray. Yet again, another thumbs up. 10/10.

Okay, enough rambling from me. Overall that is 54/60 which is a pretty good overall score. I hope you found this useful if you are thinking of purchasing some Foxy Locks extensions. The true test for me will be when I have abused them with straighteners, curlers and products for a few months. A lot of the time extensions can tangle, frizz and shed if they are poor quality so time will tell. Here is a 'before' and 'after' picture of me wearing the extensions. The 'Before' picture is from last year so my hair is actually a lot longer now but you get the gist.

Overall, I really like them. The flash on my camera has picked them up a slightly different colour than the actually are. In person, they match perfectly. Again, sorry for the mega long post but I hope you found it a good read and helpful regardless.

Have you ever tried Foxy Locks? What do you think?

Lots of Love,

Nivea Aqua Sensation Review

If you read my New Year Resolutions post, you'll know that I am absolutely rubbish with my skincare routine. It really is my worst beauty habit. However, a few weeks back now, I bought the Nivea 'Aqua Sensation' Invigorating Day Cream from Superdrug. I was specifically looking for a moisturiser but I didn't have big bucks to spend. I particularly wanted a moisturiser as I think it is probably the one thing your skin actually does need. I don't believe in putting a million different potions and lotions on my skin every day. In an ideal world I would cleanse, tone and moisturise morning and night but I think if you lead a busy lifestyle like me then some good quality face wipes and a moisturiser should be enough.

I have been using the Nivea Aqua Sensation moisturiser for a few weeks now so I have used it enough to give a thorough review. Firstly, let me just tell you I LOVE this product so prepare yourselves for a rave review. I decided to go for a Nivea product as they are known for producing good quality products with very reasonable prices. This moisturiser cost me around £5.00 which is CHEAP for a moisturiser. I had looked at a few other brands including No7 and they were well over £20. For me, I just cannot afford £20 on a moisturiser.

On the Nivea website they describe the product like this:

'The Hydra IQ ingredient has been shown to support the creation of new aquaporins. These are the skin cell’s own hydration channels, which improve the moisture flow from cell to cell. This leads to an intense moisture distribution - even in deeper skin layers'.

Obviously this is a very 'scientific' explanation but it is basically saying the moisturiser contains an ingredient that moisturises the deeper layers of skin. Obviously, I don't know if this is true but I will take their word for it. What I love about this moisturiser is how light it is. I have combination skin, sometimes it can get dry and other times pretty oily. I didn't want a moisturiser that was going to be too heavy on my skin and make it greasy. I have tried so many in the past that have just been far too heavy and actually made my skin feel worse. This moisturiser is the perfect consistency. It blends into the skin like a dream, feels really refreshing and sinks into the skin in only a few minutes. There is nothing worse than applying a moisturiser and being left with skin that still feels sticky and caked in product an hour later.

My skin feels very refreshed and smooth after using the product and it eliminates and dryness. I often find myself using this before I apply my foundation instead of a primer as it creates a lovely smooth base for make-up. I also love the smell of this product. As I said before, as well as feeling refreshing on the skin, it also smells refreshing. It doesn't smell full of chemicals like a lot of skin products can. I feel as though I am applying a very natural product to my skin. I absolutely love the packaging too, the little blue pot is so cute and you actually get a lot of product for such a cheap price. Oh, the product itself is actually a pale blue as well which is unusual but i like it.

Overall, I would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a nice moisturiser but doesn't want to spend a fortune. I am thinking of trying more from the Aqua Sensation range as it is so lovely. I always buy moisturisers and they usually end up sitting in a drawer not being used. Whereas with this product, I can't wait to slather it on my face every morning and night.

Have you tried any skincare products from Nivea? Are there any you would recommend? I hope you are all well. Nearly the weekend, yey!

Lots of Love,

Foxy Locks Advice?

Hey Ladies. Todays post is me asking for your help and advice. I have needed a new set of good quality hair extensions for some time now and I finally decided upon Foxy Locks. I have read numerous reviews on these extensions and they sound perfect for me. The company is owned by the gorgeous Imogen and she offers 120g, 160g or 215g packs of 100% Remy human hair clip-in hair extensions. I originally wanted the 160g 'Deluxe' set as it seemed like the right amount of hair for me. I have normal hair, not thin but not too thick. It is also pretty long. However, after checking the website today, I am in a TOTAL dilema. The 160g set are out of stock. Seriously, it's just my luck. I've been waiting until I actually had the money to spend on them and now they are sold out, nightmare. Anyway, I am still contemplating buying them tonight as I NEED some new hair extensions for this weekend. My old extensions are a complete frizz-ball mess and I am well over due a new set. As I can't get my hands on the 160g, I was thinking of going for the 120g set instead.

Imogen - Owner of FoxyLocks

As I say, my hair is just 'normal'. I do love the big hair look on a night out and I always curl my extensions as I think this looks more natural and creates a more full look anyway. As well as the Foxy Locks I plan to order, I actually have two strips of Remy hair left over from my last lot of hair extensions that I am planning on mixing in with the Foxy Locks to create more thickness. I am hoping these extra two strips will thicken the extensions if the 120g are slightly too thin for me.

Basically I need your expertise. I know a lot of you lovely blogging ladies will of had experience with hair extensions and can offer me some advice. If I order the 120g of Foxy Locks and add another 2 wefts of Remy hair, will I get the fullness I'm after? I would LOVE your advice as I really am in two minds about wether to order the 120g set. I even contemplated the Superior set Foxy Locks offers of 215g but I just cannot afford £120 on hair extensions when I have rent to pay, food to buy and driving lessons to fork out on. The 120g set are only £54 which is pretty reasonable. There is also a shop in Newcastle city centre that sells individual strips of Remy hair and they are super thick. I could just go and buy one of those strips to add to the Foxy Locks if the 120g set is too thin? As you can probably tell, I am blabbering on but it is just because I really had my heart set on ordering these extensions.

Please help me make my decision. Have you ever had the 120g set? Were they thick enough? There is nothing worse than thin, un-natural and cheap looking extensions. If I do order the Foxy Locks, I will be doing a full review with pictures so you can see how I got along and if they provided me with enough thickness.

Lots of Love,

MUA Neutral Smokey Eye

The MUA Heaven & Earth Palette has been massively hyped by Beauty Bloggers and often compared to the famous Urban Decay NAKED palette. If you haven't heard of MUA before, which stands for Makeup Academy, it is a cosmetics brand that only Superdrug stocks. They sell a huge range of products for only £1 including lipsticks, lipgloss and eyeshadows.

Anyway, after reading a load of reviews about this naked palette dupe I just had to try it for myself to see what all the fuss was about. I got this palette around a week ago now and it certainly hasn't disappointed me. I have used it almost every day for the past week. The palette only costs £4.00 from Superdrug and it comes with 12 neutral shades. I can definitely see why it has been compared to the naked palette. When I first swatched the eyeshadows on my finger, I couldn't believe how pigmented they were. If anything, the colour pay-off is better than naked palette. For the price, I certainly wasn't complaining at the quality of these shadows.

I want to share a look I have been wearing regularly using this palette. All of the colours are perfect for creating a neutral smokey eye. I love neutral shades as they can be used in the daytime or made more dramatic for a evening look. The look was really simple to do and the colour pay-off was great. I used a MAC 239 brush to apply the shadows.

Products used -

MUA Shadows - As they are not named I will tell you were they are positioned in the palette. I used the Top left shade for the inner corner of my eye, the light brown on the bottom row, second from the left all over my lid and the dark brown on the top row, second from the right. (Sorry this is such a mind-boggler, I didn't know how to show the colours I used!)
MAC Eye Pencil in Smolder
Collection 2000 Extreme 24-Hour Felt-Tip Liner
Blink & Go Mascara

As you can see, the colours are really vivid with a high metallic finish. I am really impressed with this palette. I would definitely say it is a great alternative to the naked palette if your looking for something more affordable. £4 for 12 eyeshadows really is a bargain and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good selection of neutral shades.

Has anyone else tried any of the MUA makeup range?

Lots of Love,

I actually joined the GYM ...

So this is a bit of a random post but I hope it will be an interesting read all the same. Today I am very proud of myself. *big grin* I have stuck to my new years resolution of joining the gym and I actually went today for a proper work out. GO ME! Before I start rambling on, this is going to be a pretty lengthy post but I'm hoping a lot of you can relate to it and share some of your own tips with me.

So here goes, I thought I better start off with the fact I actually work at a gym. Yes you heard me, I work at a gym, get a free membership and don't use it? Your probably thinking WHY but there are many reasons. I'm there five times a week, I basically live at the place for god sake so why would I want to spend even more time there? Also, I would have to go before work which is a big no as  I would be shattered before my shift has even begun or after when all I want to do is go home. Work is 30 minutes away on the bus too so travelling to the gym on my days off has certainly never appealed to me.

Let's say I'm pretty picky when it comes to gyms. Firstly, I HATE big gyms, the type that are full of arrogant 'check me out' types. I just cannot bare the thought of working out in front of people like this. It doesn't help I'm a bit of a paranoid pete but lets just say I would feel very uncomfortable. Secondly, I have never lived close to a gym. I don't drive therefore getting the bus to a gym makes me want to vom. Can you imagine getting on a bus after the gym looking like a right sweaty betty? I know there are changing rooms at the gym but there is absolutely NO chance I could be bothered messing around doing my hair, make-up etc after a workout. When I have been to the gym I just want to go home, get a shower and get into my PJs. How people manage to go to the gym before work has always been beyond me. High five if this applies to you.

Anyway, this all changed yesterday when I signed up to a gym right next to my flat. I have lived in my current flat for a few months now and have recently realised there is a gym at the hotel down the road. My boyfriend kept saying 'we're going to join' but I always felt a bit silly joining a gym when I work at one. Anyway, after a few attempts of using the gym at work, I just knew I would never use it regularly. In the end, we thought sod it and decided to join. I am SO glad we did. We went today for the first time and it is such a cute little gym. Even though it isn't amazing to look at, it had absolutely everything we needed. It also has a gorgeous swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room so we had everything we needed. We also got a discounted price for living locally which was a bonus.

After my first experience at the gym today, I really enjoyed it. I never thought I'd hear myself say it but I now understand why people say they feel so much better after a workout. Me and my boyfriend were the only people in there for the first hour and then a couple more strolled in. Luckily they weren't the 'look at me' types, so I felt completely comfortable. We also went for a swim and steam which was a nice end to a hard workout. As it is so nearby I literally threw some clothes on and came home. It was nice to have no travelling or showering in the horrible gym showers.

I've always had a fairly normal figure. Never fat, never too skinny which has always been nice. I've never done much exercise or dieted so I have been lucky in the respect I maintained a healthy weight. However, I have always looked at girls with amazing toned bodies and thought I'd love to have more definition. I remember being 16 and having naturally amazing abs so my goal is to get them back. I know there hiding somewhere. I basically wanted to do this post as I am determined to stick with my new gym regime and to share my progress with you all. The picture below is my bikini bod back in June 2011. Obviously, I'm not remotely fat but I could look better. I've always hated my hips and bum so thats the main area I want to work on. My aim is to stick at the gym, show you how I progress and how my body has changed with regular exercise.

Has anyone else recently joined the gym? Do you suffer with the same gym phobias as me? I'd love to hear your stories! I can't wait to start seeing some positive changes to my body. It will give me so much more confidence!

Lots of Love,

MAC Impassioned

Thought I would do a quick post sharing one of my all-time favourite lipsticks. Of course, it's a MAC lipstick as I personally think they are the ultimate brand for a good quality lipstick. 'Impassioned' is one of my favourites due to the vivid pink colour. It is also an amplified formula meaning the lipstick is really pigmented. It brightens up any make-up look and is perfect for a night out. I love bright lips so this was always going to be a winner for me. I've tried a lot of pink lipsticks from various brands but my MAC ones are always top of my list.

I bought this lipstick for £12.00 but MAC have unfortunately increased their prices and the lipsticks now cost £13.50. Although it is quite expensive, these lipsticks last a LONG time. If you don't own anything from MAC and are wanting to try it out, I would definitely recommend a lipstick as your first product.

Excuse the state of this lipstick in the following pictures. it has been used ALOT and is looking a tad tatty. I love the MAC packaging though, how cute and sleek do the bullet shaped tubes look?

As you can see, it is a really lovely colour. I LOVE it. I look yellow on the last picture but I promise I wasn't. (silly camera!) I hope you can still see the effect this lipstick gives.

Do you love Impassioned? Do you recommend any other pinks by MAC?

I hope you all have a lovely day. I'm off for a meeting about a potential job. Scary.

Lots of Love,

A few AVON Purchases

Hello Lovelies! I hope you are all well. A girl I work with has recently become an Avon representative and me being the beauty addict I am, couldn't resist a few purchases. I've never really ordered from Avon in the past as it is obviously pretty hard to get hold of but I have tried some of my mums Avon make-up and have always been really impressed. So I am happy I can now get hold of it. I ordered four things in total, nothing that I really needed but do I ever NEED half the make-up I buy? Not really, but I LOVE buying new products and I always persuade myself into buying stuff. The four items I ordered only cost me £13.80 though which is a total bargain.

What I got:

Mineral gems glamorous gold shimmering body oil spray - £2.80 - I ordered this before I got my Illamasqua Illumine oil which is essentially the same thing. I plan on doing a comparison of them both as there is a HUGE price difference.
Lipstick in the shade 'Personified Plum' - £5.00
Glimmerstick lip liner in the shade 'Mystery Mauve' - £3.00
Glimmerstick brow definer in the shade 'Dark Brown' - £3.00

I haven't tried any of the products yet but I like the look of them all from the swatches. The lipstick is slightly more sheer than I would of hoped but it is still a lovely colour. I can't wait to try them out.

I hope everyone is having a lovely day. I stat work at 2:30 and I really can't be bothered. I am off tomorrow though so that will hopefully get me through my 8 hour shift. Do you recommend any AVON products?

Lots of Love,

Cute Blog Award

So I have been awarded the Cute Blog award by the lovely Katie-Alice. This came as quite a surprise. Id you read my last post, you'll understand I think my blog is anything but cute. *Layout Issues*. I was very flattered and would like to say a big thank-you to Katie. Check out her lovely blog here

For this award you:
1. Link back to the person who awarded you.
2. Answer the award questions.
3. Tell something about yourself that you haven't told anyone on your blog yet.
4. Award as many blogs as you think worthy of this award
5. Make sure to let these you gave this award to know that you awarded them.

The Award Questions:
1. What is your go to make-up brand?
My go-to make-up brand would have to be MAC. The majority of my everyday make-up is MAC and even though it is expensive I think it is totally worth it. Their products are really high quality and I would never go back to using drugstore face products. (foundation, powder).

2. What was your favourite fashion trend of 2011?
This is a toughy. I love trying out new trends so don't really have one particular favourite. I really liked the whole 'Skater Dress' style that suddenly seemed to emerge after Frankie Sandford was seen wearing a red skater style from Zara. I also loved Chinos. I lived in my pair of cream chinos over the summer. They are such an easy piece of clothing to wear and go with everything.

3. What is your favourite dessert?
Pavlova or Apple Crumble. It's a close call.

4. Favourite colour?
I don't think I have one. Is that bad? If I'm doodling things I love pink. Hence the colouring on my blog. When it comes to clothing though, I HATE pink.

5. What is your middle name?
My middle name is Louise. I know it's quite a common middle name but it's actually my mum's name.

6. What's the last song you listened to?
Apart from the crappy CD at work today it would have to be 'When will my Life Begin' from the Tangled soundtrack. How sad does that make me? I am literally obsessed with that film at the moment. I love princess Disney films and this one is so cute with some amazing songs. I would love to see a musical version of the film.

7. Cats or dogs?

Dogs, hands down. I am desperate to get a puppy. I love my Nanna and Grandad's dog Amber and my auntie's new pup Miley. I have huge dog-envy whenever I go to visit. Maybe I'll just steal them? My boyfriend HATES cats so there definitely out of the question.

Random fact I haven't told anyone:
I quite often suffer with panic and anxiety attacks. I obviously haven't told many people this as it's slightly depressing but yes, it is safe to say I am a massive Hypochondriac worry-wart.

I Award:

Thanks again to Katie for the award, they are always fun to do.

Lots of Love,

My Layout Problem ...

So this post is a cry for help! I'm hoping you guys can help me with my blogs layout. It is totally winding me up how crappy my blog looks. I'm hoping one of my readers is a complete whizz-kid with layouts and can help me  improve it?
I literally don't have the first clue how to do anything apart from the basics. I really enjoy writing my blog and have had some great feedback on my posts but I think a blog needs to have an eye-catching lay out to give it the finishing touch. I love simple designs as I think a blog should be easy to read and not too 'busy'. Sometimes if there is too much all over the place it can be quite overwhelming.

I want a fairly plain background but I really really really want a cool header? I have seen so many blogs with amazing fonts on their headers and I just don't have a clue how to do this. All I can do is use the basics. Is there a way of adding a new font? I have googled and searched to my hearts content and I am still completely clueless.

While I'm on this subject, does anyone know how to get a link that takes you straight to Twitter? I have seen 'follow me' buttons on blogs and I don't know how to get one! If you do want to follow me on Twitter, you can do so here.

I would highly appreciate some help with my layout problem. Even websites that offer free designs/fonts would be helpful? I just want a pretty looking blog, is that too much to ask? *sob*

Lots of Love,

Golden Globes - Best Dressed

Last night, one of the biggest events in A-lister land took place. It was the Golden Globe awards held in California. I don't know if it's just me but I absolutely LOVE seeing what all the gorgeous celebs wore. They always look so glamorous and I start dreaming of one day wearing or owning one of their stunning dresses. I've been sat looking at the dresses online and thought it would make a fun post to show you my faves. Everyone looked amazing but some totally stood-out for me and made me think WOW. Angelina Jolie and her Versace dress have made the headlines today in the Best-Dressed category but I have to say her dress wasn't up there with the best for me. Here are my faves:

Jessica Alba - She is absolutely STUNNING regardless of what she is wearing but how amazing is this Gucci dress? I love the pastel colour and all the embellishment. It looks so glamorous and elegant, yet girly and fun at the same time. It looks perfect with her sleek up-do and simple accessories.

Lea Michele - Now this isn't to everyones taste but I saw this picture and immediately thought WOW. It's amazing how different she looks glammed up compared to her normal geek-chic style playing Rachel in Glee. I think this Marchesa dress is amazing. I love the mesh covered in embellishment. It is very unique compared to some of the other dresses seen on the red-carpet.

Mila Kunis - Although this dress is fairly simple I LOVE it. Mila has recently been announced as the new face of Dior so obviously she was plugging the brand and wore a dress from their new Spring/Summer collection. I think it is very understated and elegant. You can't go wrong with a LBD after all.

Nicole Kidman - I'm not usually the biggest fan of Nicole Kidman and her fashion choices but I have to say, this Versace dress is stunning. I love the figure-hugging design and the gold embellishment running down the front. (Can you tell I love embellishment?) She reminds me of a mermaid. Random I know. LOVE it.

Who do you think was the best-dressed at this year's Golden Globes?!

Lots of Love,

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer

Todays post is going to be a review on the well-know and fairly 'hyped' Smashbox Photo Finish Primer. I had wanted this for SO long after seeing hundreds of amazing reviews on Youtube. I've never really liked the idea of primers before as I'd tried the MAC Prep & Prime and it just did absolutely NOTHING for my skin or the finish of my make-up. However, when I read such rave reviews saying how amazing this product was and the difference it made to the overall look of make-up, I was sucked in.

I got this product as a present for Christmas so I have used it a few times now. I didn't want to use it once and then review it but I feel I have tried and tested it enough now to give an accurate review. Firstly I have to mention the price. The reason I got this as a Christmas present is because I could NEVER afford to buy it before. It cost £29.00 on the Debenhams website. For me, I think that is an obscene price for a product that you don't even see on your face. I'm only going to pay a lot of money for something if it is something I can see on my skin. For example, a lipstick or eyeshadow (maybe). Anyway, as my mum had said it was up to me what I got with my Christmas money I thought why not give it a try while I have the opportunity.

Moving on to how the product actually works. It comes out of the bottle in a clear gel like formula. I was quite worried about this at first as I suffer with combination skin meaning sometimes it can be oily. I didn't want to apply more oil to my face and end up looking like a huge disco-ball. Fortunately, this wasn't the case. I applied a small dab onto my T-Zone and it absorbed into the skin very easily. You only need the teeniest bit which is a plus point as it will last a long time. I then spread the product across my face and I must admit it feels lovely on the skin. It felt very smooth and silky. I was impressed so far.

When I began putting my foundation on, it went on much smoother than normal due to the smooth base the primer had created. I was happy with this as that is one of the main jobs a primer should do. It also made buffing foundation into the skin easier. I wouldn't say it gave me a 'flawless' look but it definitely make my job of applying foundation a breeze. Now, the second thing this primer is supposed to do is to help make-up last all day. I used this on Christmas day when I was going to be wearing my make-up from lunch-time until all hours of the morning so it was a good test. To be honest, I don't find my make-up comes off very easily anyway as I always set my foundation with a powder. However, on  Christmas day I didn't need to touch-up once and my make-up still looked picture perfect at 3am.

Overall, I would give this product a thumbs up due to the gorgeous silky feeling it gives my skin. However, I don't think I would re-purchase it. For me, this is a pure luxury item that I only own due to it being a Christmas present. I just couldn't justify spending £29.00 for something that is nice but not AMAZING. As I say, my make-up tends to stay on anyway so the main reason I bought this was to create that flawless look. It does make my skin smooth but I can't say it makes it flawless, therefore it isn't a must-have product for me.

This is nothing to do with Smashbox Primer but can I just add that I now have 285 followers, wow. I am so grateful to anyone who takes time to read my blog and follow me. As a big thank you, I'm doing a giveaway when I reach 300 so keep a look out for that.

Has anyone tried this primer or any other Smashbox products? I would love to try some of their make-up.

Lots of Love,
