Spring is now well underway and the weather is nice-ish. I say nice-ish as it was so sunny last week and now it feels like we're back in the depths of Winter - not good! Anyway, despite the weather being a bit ordinary, I've still been switching up my makeup bag and adding a few Spring beauty products into the mix. One of my favourite products to switch up when we get to S/S is my lip products. Instead of reds, berry's and pl shades, I like to use more of my peachy pink products that have more light and glossy formulas.
First up is two products I've been loving for the past couple of years - the Revlon Lip Butters and Bourjois Colorboost lip crayons*. I love both of these as they're so easy to apply and I love their glossy and moisturising formula. They feel light on the lips and I love that they provide a wash of colour without being too bold. These lip butter is in the shade 'Strawberry Shortcake' and the lip crayon is 'Pinking of It'. Strawberry Shortcake is a glossy pale pink whilst Pinking Of It is a slightly brighter Fuchsia Pink. I feel like both of these products keep my lips hydrated and they're easy to throw in my handbag for on the go touch ups.
Another lip crayon I've been loving recently is the NARS Satin Lip Pencil in the shade 'Decanso', a pale peach. Peach is definitely the shade of the season when it comes to Spring and while I often find Peach lips don't look great with my skin tone, this one is lovely as its not too pale and doesn't wash me out like others can. I also love the crayon style applicator and the glossy finish - its another one of those products I can throw in my handbag and apply on the go.
I tend to wear gloss a lot more in Spring and the two I've been loving recently are the Tanya Burr lip gloss in the shade 'Picnic in the Park' and the Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxi lipgloss* in the shade 'Leading Lady' (part of a Christmas gift set). Tanya's lip glosses are one of my faves because of the pigmented and glossy but non-sticky formula. You can wear them on their own without the need for a lipstick underneath or on top of your favourite lipstick for an extra pop of colour and shine. This particular shade is one of my favourites as its a vibrant bubblegum pink that instantly brightens up my complexion when I wear it. The Bare Minerals lip gloss is fairly neutral shade with a hint of gold shimmer so its perfect to wear over a matte lipstick to add some gloss. It also tastes minty and has that tingling effect on the lips which I love as I feel it plumps my lips up.
A couple of more recent additions to my Spring lip line up is the Clarins Instant Light Lip Balm Perfector* in the very originally named shade 'Red' and the Bourjois Aqua Laque liquid lipstick* in the shade 'Fuschia Perchie'. I've been wearing bother of these products a lot recently if I want to wear colour without going too bold. The Clarins lip balm is called Red and whilst it does look Red in the tube, its more of a Raspberry colour and it has the most beautiful glossy formula. I love that its a lip balm as well as a lip colour as I feel like I'm doing my lips some good whilst wearing this! I feel this one will be a makeup bag essential for all seasons. The Bourjois Aqua Laque is the most vibrant of the bunch being a vibrant bright Pink shade but its another one I've been loving thanks to its glossy formula. Can you tell I love a bit of gloss at this time of year? This one is a liquid lipstick so it goes onto the lips glossy at first and when the gloss wears off, it stains the lips with colour. This is a great one to go for if you need something long lasting as it does stick around for quite some time.
