So another month is over and that means it's time to look back at the month of May and discuss the products that have made my monthly favourites post! I always love putting these posts together as it gives me the chance to share new discoveries and products I'd recommend you guys to try for yourselves. This month I've been loving quite a lot of new beauty bits, as well as a hair product and a new perfume so keep reading to find out more about them ...
Real Techniques Setting Brush
Crown Brush Chubby Eye Pencil
I've had this brush for quite some time now and have always been a fan of it but since receiving another one in the Real Techniques 'Sculpting Set' which I reviewed here, I've been using it more often. I particularly love it for setting my under eye concealer or highlighter as it picks up just the right amount of product, is the perfect size and the bristles are gentle enough to be used under the eye.
Crown Brush Chubby Eye Pencil
Crown Brush recently added some new products to their makeup range and this Chubby Eye Pencil was one of them. It comes in a few shades but I have 'Blizzard' which is a frosty white shade with hints of silver running through it. I've been absolutely loving it to highlight the inner corner of my eyes and under my brow bone as it's so quick and easy to use.
I'm a big fan of Tanya's lip glosses and 'Chic' is the most recent shade I've added to my collection. It's a lovely peachy nude shade and has been my handbag essentials recently as it's great for every day wear. The thing I love most about these lip glosses is that they're not sticky and I can wear them alone of over a lipstick to add some shine.
Maybelline Instant Anti-Age The Eraser Concealer
My MAC Pro Longwear Concealer was running low so to try and make it last that bit long, I decided I'd try and find a high street concealer I can use on a day to day basis instead. I'd heard so many rave reviews about the Maybelline Eraser concealer so I decided to give it a try and I'm glad I did. I love that the product is dispensed from a sponge at the top as it makes it easy enough to apply under my eyes and blend in. I know a lot of people complain about this not being a very hygienic application method but it doesn't bother me too much and I haven't had any problems with breakouts. The product itself is lovely too - it has a medium to full coverage and a creamy formula. It brightens my under eye area whilst also covering dark circles and I've really enjoyed using it as a cheaper alternative to my MAC product.
Roberto Cavali Paradiso Perfume
I seem to have accumulated so many new perfumes over the past few months but the one that's my current favourite is this one from Roberto Cavali. The bottle is very chic and I the scent is sweet without being sickly and feminine. I'm not the best at describing scents but online it's described as "A titillating prelude of sparkling citrus blends generous bergamot and sweet mandarin orange. A heart note of wild jasmine follows, bringing a lush overtone of voluptuousness and sensuality." Much better than I could have ever put it! Basically, you need to give this one a sniff!
Richard Ward Keratin Smoothing Mist
I was very kindly given this product along with some of the other Richard Ward range at a recently blogger event down in London. I haven't had chance to try the shampoo and conditioner yet but I'm in love with this Keratin Smoothing Mist spray and have been using it on my hair daily. It's a very fine mist that contains Keratin to re-build and protect the hair, Argan Oil to create shine as well as vitamins and minerals to promote hair health and strength. It smells amazing and is so affordable so I can't recommend it enough.
Other than my HD brow palette in the shade Foxy, I don't tend to use anything else on my brows. I've tried so many pencils and powders in the past but they've always had something wrong with them - not enough pigmentation, too powdery or too orange toned. However, I've recently been introduced to the Illamasqua Eyebrow Cake in the shade 'Thunder' and I love it. It's highly pigmented meaning I only need to smallest amount of product to fill in my brows and I find it less powdery than my HD powder which means I can be more neat and precise with it. The colour is a great match for my brows too and it doesn't have an Organe undertone which I like.
Benefit Roller Lash
When I first received this cute little sample of Benefit's new Roller Lash mascara, I wasn't sold on it. However, after giving it a few more goes, I can now see why everyone is raving about it so much. It definitely makes my lashes look a lot longer than they are naturally and because the brush has been designed in a curved shape with a special 'Hook n Roll' brush, it grabs on to every lash
Clarins Aquatic Treasures Bronzer
I love Clarins as a brand and I'm always impressed by their new launches. They recently released their Summer 'Aquatic Treasures' collection and the bronzer is definitely my favourite. Firstly, look at that packing - isn't it beautiful? I love to embossed print on the product. The compact is pretty big and I love that it has a large mirror as it's great for travelling with.
What have you been loving lately?
I've heard such good things about Maybelline The Eraser - it's definitely about time I tried it out for myself. I use NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer at the moment and I absolutely love it, but it is a bit on the pricey side. I still haven't tried Roller Lash out either!
