Getting Christmas Party Ready With Brand Attic

I was introduced to the website 'Brand Attic' a few months ago now and I've been a big fan ever since. You may have seen photos of me on Instagram (@kayleighjcouture) wearing some of their pieces and I love how much choice they have from a wide range of brands. With this being said, when they recently contacted me to see if I'd like to get involved in their Christmas party edit, I jumped at the chance. They challenged me to pick an outfit from the website and style it up for a Christmas party. With their being so many parties at this time of year, what better excuse to get myself a new outfit! I also did a little interview all about getting glam for Christmas and my favourite things to wear. I've popped that below so you can have a little read but you can also find it on their website here along with some of bloggers answers!!

So, back to the outfit I chose. For me, Winter fashion is all about beautiful deep tones so as soon as I saw this Fashion Union Roller Lace dress with beautiful embroidery, I knew it would make the perfect Christmas party outfit. I love the shape of this dress - it synches me in at the waist then flares out ever so slightly on the bottom half meaning its super flattering, especially if you're conscious of your hips like I am. I'm also totally in love with the floral embroidery detailing - the neckline is absolutely stunning and the sheer straps make it that bit more glamorous. The colour is perfect for this time of year too - any shade of red has me feeling all Christmassy!

I decided to get this A&G black trench coat to pair with the dress as I always think they look super classy and can be worn both day or night so if you're going to your Christmas party straight from the office, it's a great option. Plus, who wants to be walking around in the freezing cold in only a little dress? Or is that just a sign I'm getting old, eek! As you can see form my photos, this coat looks great worn loose or tied at the front and I've been wearing it a lot for dinners out recently as it keeps me warm but looks smart at the same time. Win win!

To finish the look and add a touch of extra glam, I curled my hair using my GHD's, popped a slick of MAC 'Rebel' lipstick on and some of my favourite heels! Christmas party look - done!! As mentioned, here's my little interview with Brand Attic all about my Christmas party look;

1) What made you choose this outfit?

I love the colour of the dress - I think deep reds / burgundy shades are my favourite to wear at this time of year as I can pair them with a deep lip for a really vampy look! I also love the detailing on the dress - it's beautiful and and a really flattering shape too. As for the coat, you can't go wrong with a classic trench and I know I'll get so much wear out of it.

2) Did you have a celebrity aspiration in mind when creating the outfit?

Not really - I usually just choose things I like and shapes that would suit my figure when putting an outfit together. Don't get me wrong, I love celebrities and think so many of them look amazing but I prefer to stick to things I know and love when it comes to fashion.

3) What's your favourite part of the look you created?

Definitely the dress - as I said above, I love the colour, shape and style. I felt very glam wearing it and it matches my MAC 'Rebel' lipstick perfectly.

4) What's the one golden rule for Christmas party wear?

It's got to be glam! Christmas is the one time of year you can really go all out with party wear so make the most of it. Sequins, glitter, metallics - you name it! Oh and don't forget a pair of classic high heels and a slick of red lipstick to finish your look!

So there we have it, one of the looks I'll be rocking this party season! I hope you enjoyed this post and be sure to check out Brand Attic for some amazing party pieces! They've actually got 20% off dresses today only so now is the time to buy!

What's your favourite Christmas party look?
