When it comes to footwear, trainers have never been all that present in my rather large collection of shoes! It's not that I don't like them, I've just always been more of a girly girl and my shoes usually reflect that. You'll rarely find me in a pair of flat shoes, let alone trainers. However, over the past few months, I've been branching out of my usual comfort zone and have found myself loving wearing trainers. I never thought I'd hear myself say that but I'm fully converted and have managed to add four pairs to my wardrobe in the past few months alone. Oops!
The latest additions to my ever growing collection are the Adidas Gazelle OG Trainers from Sole Trader and I'm totally obsessed with them!! Unlike a lot of trainers that can be bulky and not very ladylike, these ones are super comfy and still look feminine. I love that they have a thin sole as one thing that usually puts me off wearing trainers are the big bulky soles. I love the neutral colour too as again, they're really feminine. They're classed as an 'off-white' shade on the Sole Trader website and they also have a hint of Silver glitter running through them. I did think that could potentially look a bit tacky but luckily, it's very subtle.
To style the trainers, I decided to pair them with my new ankle grazer skinny jeans from New Look as jeans are my favourite thing to pair with trainers. I'll probably branch out into wearing them with little dresses and skirts in the Summer months but whilst the weather is still on the cold side (hurry up sunshine!), jeans are my bottom half of choice. I love the ripped knee style and the dark denim shade of these ones - I personally find this colour denim way more flattering than a light wash. Also, considering they only cost £24.99, they're some of the comfiest jeans I own. I've also got these plain black ones which will be another pair I'll be wearing with these trainers.
On my top half I decided to wear my new favourite jumper from queen B's new Ivy Park range. I picked this up in Topshop recently and I'm totally in love with it. The Peach colour is perfect for this time of year and although it's long-sleeved, it's fairly thin so I should still get my wear out of it, even when the weather finally decides to warm up a bit. I think it works perfectly with the jeans and trainers too for a really laid-back but on-trend (if I do say so myself) look. I definitely need to pick up some more items from the Ivy Park range - I'm loving all the gym wear, it's such a shame I don't work out enough to warrant buying it all haha! Maybe that can be my motivation?!
To finish the look, I wore my leather biker jacket from Megan Mckenna's Miss Pap collection and I think this is the perfect finishing touch. You just can't go wrong with a leather jacket - they go with virtually every outfit and add a really cool rock chick vibe. Whenever I put my leather jacket on, I feel ten times more stylish - is that just me?! I own three now so it's definitely a must-have item in my wardrobe. I'm also wearing my favourite new Brooklyn sunglasses from A Vanity Affair - I love the shape of them and the Silver mirrored effect is super cool.
This would have to be one of my favourite casual daytime looks at the moment - I'm so in love with the Gazelle trainers, I can see them being one of my most worn pairs of shoes for the next few months. I may even need to treat myself to a few more colours. If you like them, you can get them for £79.99 here from Sole Trader. I know that's quite pricey but in my opinion, totally worth it. I've had so many compliments since I started wearing them!!
Are you a fan of trainers? Do you like the Gazelle style?
