Benidorm Diaries - Day One; Electric Bikes, Dining with a View & The Dreamiest Hotel

Hey guys! So you may have seen that I was recently taken to Benidorm with and five other lovely bloggers for three days of fun and exploring. We had the best time over there and packed so much into the three days so I thought it'd be nice to document the trip and share exactly where we stayed and what we did as I’ve had so many questions about it since posting on social media. I can't possibly fit all the info into one post so I'm going to do three - one for each day of the trip.

I have to admit, I was a little bit cautious about going to Benidorm when I first received the invite as it doesn't have the best reputation for idyllic holiday destination with it often only associated with hen/stag dos and the type of place you go when you want to party and enjoy a bit of a rowdy night out. However, Jet2 assured us that this trip wasn't going to invoke clubbing on 'the strip' and would instead highlight a nicer side of the city that isn’t often shown or talked about.

I flew on an early morning flight from Manchester with the lovely Emma from The Emasphere and we enjoyed a cheeky glass of prosseco in the Escape lounge before our flight - this is really worth booking if you like to have a few drinks and something to eat before you fly as it only costs £22.50 for unlimited food, drinks and wifi. If it hadn’t been so early in the morning, I think I’d have definitely been making the most of that unlimited bar - it’s the perfect way to start any trip.

The flight was quick, smooth and really enjoyable. I never used to like flying but the more I do it, the less it worries me and I now find it quite a fun experience - something I never thought I’d hear myself say. Jet2 is definitely my favourite low cost airline to fly with (not being biased I promise - I book with them regularly for my getaways) as I feel they’re really well priced for such great flight times, have way more leg room than other airlines I’ve flown with and a very generous 22kg baggage allowance. The service is great too - after enjoying a couple more prosecco’s from the in-flight service, we landed in a sunny Benidorm.

Jet2 had arranged a private transfer to pick us up from the airport which is a perk when booking one of their Jet2holidays and after around 20 minutes in the car, we arrived at the stunning Melia Villaitana hotel to meet up with the other bloggers and the Jet2 team. If you were following my snapchats / Insta story during the trip, you’d have seen just how amazing this hotel was - the amount of people I had messaging me saying they couldn’t believe it was in Benidorm was crazy and I felt exactly the same way. It was so pretty, luxurious and most importantly, chilled - not what I’d pictured a hotel in Benidorm to be like whatsoever. I’ll talk more about it in one of my other posts as we spent a full afternoon relaxing there on day three!

After checking in to our beautiful (and huge) rooms, we freshened up and headed to reception to meet up with Sergio who was our tour guide for the trip. He was showing us the best bits of Benidorm on behalf of Visit Benidorm who are the go-to people when you want to know the best of the best places to visit in the city. Our first port of call was a beautiful paella lunch at Ulia Restaurant which overlooked Poniente beach. As you can see from the photos, the beach was so pretty and was made even better by the glorious weather. The perfect setting to enjoy an authentic Spanish paella - yum!

After lunch, Sergio told us we’d be going on an electric bike tour and I honestly had no idea what to expect. We headed to a place near Leavante beach called Tao Bike to hire the bikes which cost 12 euros for 2 hours use. We were shown how the bikes worked, given a little test run and then off we went to explore more of Benidorm. Honestly, this was hands down one of the most fun things I’ve ever done. With one small pedal, the bike picks up speed and you don’t have to put much effort in at all - it's definitely one for the thrill seekers as the more you pedal, the faster it gets. We rode them up the side of a cliff with a few stop offs to take in the amazing views of the city and it was just perfect. I already want to do it all over again and have been telling everyone I can how much fun it was - I can’t recommend it enough.

After taking in the views we headed to the restaurant which is situated inside the 5* Magic Villa Venecia hotel - as you can imagine, it was pretty swanky. We were given a lovely set menu of seven courses which really reasonably priced at only 40 euros per person. My favourite course was the sea bass with wakame seaweed and the candyfloss dessert - it was great to be able to try some new dishes I wouldn’t usually order. The meal was also accompanied by lots of delicious Spanish wine so I was obviously in my element. This would be the perfect setting for a couple who want to wine and dine over an intimate dinner while taking in some amazing views.

So that rounds up day one with and Visit Benidorm. I hope you enjoyed reading about what we got up to - it was a truly fabulous day. Day two will be coming soon so keep an eye out to read about more of Benidorm's hidden gems.

National Friendship Day with Pretty Little Thing

When one of my favourite brands PrettyLittleThing contacted me about working on a post with my blogger bae Victoria Hearn to celebrate National Friendship Day, I jumped at the chance. PLT is a brand both Victoria and I have shopped with for years so we couldn’t wait to style up some of our fave pieces whilst catching up at the same time. The idea behind the post is to celebrate friendship, let you guys know a bit more about me and Victoria and also show you how you and your bestie can slay together wearing PrettyLittleThing for any occasion. I hope you enjoy!

Victoria and I have only been friends since September of last year which is crazy to think about as it feels like we’ve known each other for years. If you follow us on social media, I’m sure you see photos of us together all the time and snapchats of us being silly - I mean, a friend isn’t a true friend if you can’t be weird with each other, right? We first met when we were both shortlisted for a Cosmo Blog Award and Victoria DM’d me on Instagram to see if I fancied meeting up before and going together. We’d both followed each other for ages so as soon as I saw her message, I said yes straight away. I hate attending events alone so I was so thankful to her for reaching out.

We met before the event and the rest is history. We’ve been pretty much inseparable ever since - not a day goes by that we don’t chat on whats app and we’ve already been away on two holidays together with plans for a third very soon. You know when you meet someone who you instantly click with and you feel like you can be 100% yourself around? That’s what happened with Victoria and I. If you’re a blogger yourself and have friends in the industry, you’ll know that it’s such a breath of fresh air to be able to do ‘blogger stuff’ with each other and not feel judged in the slightest. For instance, being a top poser for all those insta shots and not being judged or being able to sit together whilst on our phones updating social media and not feel awkward or like we’re being rude. When you have the same job, becoming friends is ten times easier as you instantly have a common ground and so much to discuss.

In terms of our style - I’d say Victoria and I are very similar and like a lot of the same things. There’s been so many times we’ve both worn something and the other one has been like ‘okay, I need this’. I think it’s really nice to have a friend with a similar sense of style - it means you can always share outfits and of course, been coordinated for all those selfies! As you can see from these photos, when picking our sassy PLT looks, we both went for pieces that compliment each other perfectly. We decided to style up a day time look, evening look and even some night wear to show you that no matter what the occasion, PrettyLittleThing have got you covered!

For our day time looks, we decided we'd centre it around key pieces of denim. Victoria and I both love wearing denim on a daily basis so it was a no brainer for us to pick some of our fave PLT denim pieces. Victoria went for this amazing Pink 'Au Revoir Felicia' slogan jacket and distressed denim skirt paired with a super cute v-neck stripe bodysuit and some rose gold sliders! This is a look I'd wear myself too - I love how fun and colourful it is. For my outfits, I decided to get this distressed oversized denim jacket to pair with some white high waisted denim shorts and this nude cropped tee with tie waist detailing. I absolutely love this top - it's one of those that can be easily dressed u I also went for a pair of studded white sliders

For the evening look, we just couldn't resist PrettyLittleThing's new Premium dress range - I mean, how beautiful are these dresses? They're slightly pricier than PLT's standard range but in my opinion, so worth the extra money. If you have a special occasion coming up and you want to wear something that will make you stand out and look a million dollars, these are 100% the dresses for you. I have my engagement party at the end of this month and I'm highly considering the dress I'm wearing as my outfit. It's just so beautiful - I love all the detailing. You can get Victoria's dress here and mine here. My rose gold heels are also available here - I love these as they go with so many different outfits.

Our final look is nightwear and we decided on these CUTE AF (literally) pyjamas! We both loved them as soon as we clocked them on the PrettyLittleThing website and I think these are so perfect if you and your girls are planning a girls night in and want to wear something cute for chilling and sleeping in! Who doesn't love wearing matching outfits with their friends?!

I hope you guys liked this post and all of our PLT picks - we had so much fun shooting it! We've also done a Q&A over on the PrettyLittleThing blog so make sure you go and have a read to find out more about us - you can click here to be taken straight to it.

I'd love to know how you became friend with your besties and if you have similar styles - let me know in the comments below. You can follow Victoria's blog here too.
